Here at Kootenia we don’t just build out certain rooms, we build a place for you and your family to call home. But, there really is one room that can make it feel most like a home and that is the kitchen. Therefore, some choose to call the kitchen the “heart of the home”. Ultimately, we tend to agree with that and here’s why.
Most importantly, the kitchen is a place to gather. Most of the time it’s the first place everyone starts their day. Whether it be a warm cup of coffee, homemade breakfast, or even grabbing a quick granola bar on the way out the door. Your kitchen gives you a place to send off your children to school. Then, you wish that everyone has a good day before you all head off in different directions.
What happens next? Well everyone’s on their way home and it’s just about time for a family dinner. And where do you eat that family dinner? Probably in your kitchen around your island or at a kitchen table.
See, that’s already a couple times your family is all gathered in the same space, which means the kitchen is pretty darn important. Since this space is a gathering point, it’s important to make it functional and that is where we are here to help. Here are some things to consider:
- Island Size
- Type of Countertop
- Cabinetry
- Butler’s Pantry
- Pantry Size
- Type of Appliances
This is just a short list of things to consider about your kitchen when building your dream home. There also is plenty of selections to choose from for things like backsplash, hardware, countertops, and lighting (our interior designer will help you). Between all these selections your kitchen will truly be unique to you and your family.
Your kitchen can also be a great place to entertain some of your closest family and friends. Just another reason why this is a great space to gather. As you can see the kitchen will probably get the most use out of any room in your home and it doesn’t have to be for cooking!
