We at Kootenia are excited to announce our plans for the winter season! We currently have 3 homes in development that will be completed this spring and summer. One is a custom 2 story with a farmhouse flare, that will be featured along the 2018 Spring Parade of Homes. This home will be offered at $699,000 and feature 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a 3-car garage and almost 4,000 finished square feet. The second home we are building has just broken ground in the Saddle Club Development of Lino Lakes. This custom rambler, offered at $579,000, will have 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a 3-car garage, over 3,000 finished square feet and will be packed with upgrades. The third home we have in the works is for a family and construction for this home will begin later this month. Located in Rapp Farm, North Oaks, this custom 2 story will feature 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a 3-car garage and more than 4,000 finished square feet.
Though the winter months are generally considered the “slow season” for homebuilders, we at Kootenia believe there are many advantages to building a home during the winter. First, because many people believe the myth that they should not attempt to build their home in the cold months, contractors are more likely available to meet your timetable. Since starting in the winter is ‘off season’ for a typical construction schedule, contractors and suppliers may be less busy throughout your project and are able to focus more time on your home. Lining up plans for your foundation and scheduling a framing crew are easier during winter months than during summer months. Contractors are able to continue work in the snow verses the rain. Also, government agencies will be less busy and thus obtaining the permits your house requires will be received more quickly than during busy summer months. Finally, building your home in the winter means you experience it for the first time in the spring and summer. This is great for many reasons, from the ease of moving in a milder climate to your family having time to adjust and get settled into new routines, friends, and schools.
