A: All warranty requests are submitted through your Buildertrend client portal. Simply log in, select “Warranty Requests,” provide a description of the issue, and upload any photos. Our Warranty Department will review your request and contact you with next steps.
Q2: What does the one-year builder warranty cover?
A: The one-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that arise during the first 12 months after closing. This includes things like improperly installed fixtures, trim, cabinetry, and other construction-related issues. Manufacturer warranties for appliances and systems also remain in effect.
Q3: Are structural issues covered?
A: Certain structural components may be covered beyond the first year, depending on your contract. Your warranty documents outline these details. If you have questions, our Warranty Department can explain the specifics of your coverage.
Q4: How long does it take to get a response?
A: Most warranty requests are reviewed within 48–72 hours. After that, our team will contact you to schedule any necessary inspections or repairs. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process.
Q5: What if I don’t have photos of the issue?
A: Photos help us assess and address the problem quickly, but they are not required. You can still submit a request through Buildertrend, and our team will contact you to gather the necessary details.
Q6: What isn’t covered under the warranty?
A: The builder warranty does not cover:

A: For urgent problems, submit a request through Buildertrend and also call our Warranty Department directly at the number listed in your homeowner packet. Our team will prioritize urgent concerns to minimize disruption to your home.
Q9: How do manufacturer warranties work?
A: Many products in your home appliances, HVAC, windows, roofing, etc.have separate manufacturer warranties. Kootenia Homes helps you understand these warranties and guides you through contacting the manufacturer if an issue arises.
Q10: How can I track my warranty request?
A: Once submitted through Buildertrend, your request is tracked in real time. You’ll see progress updates, photos, and scheduled repair dates, ensuring full transparency from start to finish.
